The Vice President, Corporate Partnerships and Events will have responsibility for handling various events in addition to managing corporate partnerships nationally. This will include identifying new areas of opportunities and writing proposals.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Vice President will work directly with the Chief Executive Officer on all major events. (S)he will also manage corporate accounts and assist in assigning staff for support.
-Manage events – assisting in directing the staff and working with all sponsors.
-Manage “corporate” accounts.
-Write proposals for new corporate sponsorship and assist in handling the research to identify companies/industries.
-Keep databases/files/historical data related to all projects.
EXPERIENCE:
The Vice President should have the following experience and qualifications:
-Experience managing events in support of not-for-profit organizations.
-Demonstrated experience is outreaching to corporate sponsors, members of the Board and others involved in the work of not-for-profit organizations.
-Ability to work as a member of a team and yet to take initiative on a personal level to assure that goals are met.
-Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both in writing and verbally, and to represent the organization within the corporate and non-profit communities.
-Good writing skills. The ability to write proposals and letters to secure sponsorships and for general follow-up.
-Computer skills: knowledge of fundraising software/database programs/Excel and other computer programs.
-Organized and understands how to maintain files and set up historical files that can be used in securing new partnerships.
