AWNY offers a wide variety of committees and sub-committees that are always eager for new members and the ideas and enthusiasm you bring. So whether you joined AWNY to meet people or to find new opportunities for professional development, the best way to make AWNY work for you is to get involved with one of the many committees that are responsible for all those great events you keep getting invited to attend. You will meet other members, become recognized as a leader in the industry and find out what it takes to organize some of the best events in the New York advertising community.

As one of AWNY’s longest running and most respected annual events, the Advertising Career Conference brings together over 700 college students from across the country. Each fall, our own stars of Madison Avenue teach the "tricks of the trade" to the next generation of advertising professionals. This is a unique opportunity to help coordinate one aspect of this remarkable and inspirational event. Come learn about the many different ways you can participate.



The Executive Committee plans networking, executive recognition events, business and professional information and personal support opportunities for executives in our industry.

The Media Committee creates programs that service our members in all areas of the media segment by giving them visibility, information, networking and access to key people on the advertiser and agency side of the business.

This committee is responsible for growing and maintaining AWNY’s membership by sharing the benefits of AWNY's programs and services with other professionals in the industry, and ensuring that AWNY serves its many different members' needs.

Sub Committees:

THE MEMBERSHIP EVENTS COVERAGE COMMITTEE
This committee solicits to help at AWNY breakfasts, luncheons and evening events. The commitment is the first half-hour reception period. This is an opportunity to speak with people directly and help to increase membership for the organization. Develop your poise and confidence in public speaking by promoting AWNY. Attendance at the luncheons is half price, all other events are complimentary.

MEMBERSHIP PHONE CALLS – NEW MEMBER FOLLOW-UP

The membership committee has a year long program of follow-up with new members to ensure the first year of membership is fully utilized. We are looking for help with a few phone calls each month. There is flexibility in getting the phone calls done at your convenience, yet contributing to the overall goals of the membership committee. This is an opportunity to speak with new members directly, make connections and enhance the new member experience.

The Mentoring Sub-Committee provides the platform from which the Mentoring Program is launched. The committee is responsible for offering the program to the entire AWNY membership, launching the program in January, and monitoring the progress of the pairings throughout the year.

The role of this committee is to promote AWNY as a highly regarded organization and to publicize its impressive roster of events and networking opportunities.

The goal of this committee is to produce events that are not only helpful and educational, but also fun. They plan the annual golf clinic at Chelsea Piers, the golf outing at the Greenwich Country Club, the Annual Roast, the Installation Luncheon and the Salary Gap Series. All are welcome to help plan and execute these terrific events.

This committee creates and implements career development programming and networking events that appeal specifically to members under 30 years of age. Programming includes the VIP Silent Auction, Networking with Notables and a series of career development clinics.
