| AWNY’s
2008 Roast honoring Renetta McCann, CEO, Starcom MediaVest Group
was held on February 27 at Gotham Hall. The Roasters/Toasters included Laura
Desmond, CEO, Starcom MediaVest Group, The Americas, Jon Mandel, CEO, NielsenConnect;
Jack Klues, Chairman, Starcom MediaVest Group; Jack Griffin, President,
Meredith Publishing Group and David Verklin, CEO Aegis Media Americas. The
event was very generously sponsored by Google. Tim Armstrong, VP National
Sales spoke on the Company’s behalf which included a tribute to Renetta
as well. Mary Morgan, VP/Publisher, Redbook and AWNY’s 1st VP acted
as the evening’s emcee. All the Roasters agreed that it was difficult to “Roast” such a Grand Lady. However, they all managed to give their toasts a humorous flavor, combined with competitive digs and some very funny personal anecdotes. The evening ended with rave reviews from all attendees. |
