Pajama
Program

Dear
Members:
At the Fall members’ meeting on November 13 at MSN, AWNY members
were asked to bring pajamas to donate to the Pajama Program, a charity
that AWNY adopted last Spring. Through the generosity of our attendees,
we were able to fill ten shopping bags with 48 pairs of new pajamas
for this very important program.
The following is a letter thanking AWNY and its members for their caring
and generosity.
I would like to add my personal thanks as well.
Sincerely,
Liz Schroeder

Dear Ladies,
Thank you so very much for your donation of 48 pairs of new pajamas
to the pajama program! This is a wonderful donation and has already
been boxed and sent to children in a safe shelter in the Bronx. This
is “Danger Season” so we waste no time getting these pajamas
and books out!
Everyday we receive so many requests from shelters and group homes where
children are in need of warm pajamas that it seems like an overwhelming
task we have taken on. Then, we receive help from people like you and
within days we can send out boxes and boxes of new pajamas!
The pajamas and books we send to children help them to feel loved and
comforted when they lie down to sleep at night and on their behalf,
I again thank you personally for sharing love with them.
Sincerely,
Genevieve Piturro

On October 19, 2008, for the 5th year in a row, Team
in Training will be sending over 125 New York City based participants
to San Francisco for the 2008 NIKE Women’s Marathon. Participants
will have the option to run or walk a full or half marathon. The event
is truly one of the most unique in the country. Aside from breathtaking
views featuring the best scenery San Francisco has to offer, the course
is loaded with special ‘treats’ for participants. From a
chocolate mile sponsored by Ghirardelli, to pedicure and massage stations,
athletes are doted on from Mile 1. The Tiffany Necklace awarded to all
finishers is of course, the best incentive of all.

VOLUNTEER
YOUR SKILLS!
The Taproot Foundation -
launched in 2001, is redefining volunteering by combining the efficiencies
of traditional volunteer matching services with the quality management
practices of leading business consulting firms. The result is the ability
to assign volunteers to the most appropriate projects based on their
skills and to ensure the timely delivery of quality professional services.
Our mission is to strengthen nonprofits by engaging business professionals
in service. We build teams of marketing and creative services professionals,
human resources professionals, and information technology professionals
to work on projects for local nonprofits. Taproot lets volunteers "give
what you know" so that they can make the strongest impact on local
communities while networking and growing professionally.
The Taproot Foundation has new volunteer projects called Service Grants
launching in the next several months in New York City. We are looking
for volunteers with backgrounds in advertising, marketing, creative
design, copywriting, branding, naming and more to work with worthy nonprofits
in New York City. For more information, please contact Annie Witten,

R. Yoffe, Personal and Business Coach
Anecdotally, it is rumored that a contemporary of Michelangelo asked
him how he was able to sculpt something as magnificent as David out
of a massive rock, to which he replied: “I saw David in the stone
and I just helped him get out”. If Michelangelo were alive today,
might his profession be a Coach?
My focus as a business and personal Life Coach is to enable my clients
to be more successful, more fulfilled and more balanced so that they
can achieve their goals and enjoy life more fully. What clients expect
of me as their coach is to encourage them to tap into their creative
inner resources, which they might otherwise have difficulty understanding
and/or seeing. By utilizing my skills and extensive background in sales,
marketing and mentoring as well as my psychoanalytic abilities, I guide
my clients to make choices which effectively solve life's everyday challenges.
Please contact me for a private and confidential exploratory session
to see if I can help bring out the “David” in you.
