Gaining Ground

REGISTER TODAY - ALMOST SOLD OUT!

Gaining Ground: Handling Your Conflicts is offered as part of the Gaining Ground Workshop Series, created by UP Business Communications.

Difficult conversations frequently occur in business. The key is to move through them to the best possible outcome. Men and women greatly vary in their communication styles for handling conflict. Gender dynamics often add an additional level of complication to these tense moments.

This interactive session prepares AWNY’s resident members to handle difficult conversations with both women and men. You will learn new tools that you can use immediately to help navigate difficult conversations in the future and reach an acceptable resolution. A recent participant praised this session, stating:  “It really helped with understanding how to approach difficult situations - remembering to take a breathe, pause & ask questions and understand all perspectives before making a decision.”

About Gaining Ground: Designed exclusively for AWNY's mid to senior level Resident Members, Gaining Ground offers women an opportunity to discover their most powerful, personal communication style and develop an actionable strategy to advance in the workplace.

2015 AWNY Leadership Breakfast: Transformational Leadership Harnessing the Velocity of Change

Transformational leadership has never been more critical than it is in today’s fast-paced, technology-powered world. Every business across every sector is undergoing tremendous change--and so are their consumers and workforces. Consider: Nearly 80% of companies report that consumers’ access to technology has dramatically shifted their business models, according to recent Ernst & Young findings. Those same advances are also revolutionizing the workplace; by 2020, 50% of the workforce will be from Generations Y and Z who grew up connected, collaborative and mobile, bringing these attributes and expectations to their organizations. How can you, as a leader, harness these changes to accelerate transformation for your company and cultivate tomorrow’s transformational leaders? Hear from top leaders on how they deliver on this imperative, driving success in our world of constant and rapid-fire evolution.

Media Insights Breakfast: Large and Nimble: How Large Brands Remain Innovative and Disruptive

We know that it is critical for marketing innovation to sync with customer experience and expectations, even though these expectations are in constant motion. Smaller companies, and especially start-ups, are widely seen as the hotbed for disruption and creators of the next best thing. For the larger brands, what does it take to respond nimbly to market trends and remain innovative?

This panel will discuss how some of the most respected, established brands successfully drive new approaches to stay current and responsive, and how they overcome roadblocks to innovate and experiment.
